Best Ways To Use A Puck Rebounder

Using a puck rebounder to practice is one of the greatest ways to improve your passing and shooting skills. Some exercises are better than others, but all in all any time you spend practicing is a benefit to your game. Shooting Tarp

For the best results, make sure that you have a solid hockey shooting tarp set up so that you can practice a fully rounded set of drills. The best kind is the Sniper’s Edge shooting tarp because it is so easy to set up and so durable it will allow you to shoot pucks as hard as you can and protect your walls from getting holes in them.

Rebound Drill

Start out with passing the puck straight to the rebounder. Allow the puck to come back to you, then take the shot. When you practice shots like this it is better to have a good-sized pile of pucks ready to go so that you can hit one after the other in succession as quickly as possible. This way you not only train your shot but also your speed.

Backhand Shot

Make sure you have plenty of pucks within reach so you can remain focused on what you are doing. Pass the puck to the rebounder and enable it to come back to you. Receive the puck, then quickly push your leading hand forward and step towards the tarp then rip the backhand shot straight into the goal.

Passing Backhand Shot

This exercise also requires a nice pile of pucks that is within your reach. This time place the rebounder on the edge of your practice area with the hockey shooting tarp to your right or left. Stand with the rebounder in front of you. Begin by passing to the rebounder with a forehand and allow the puck to come back to you. When it gets within reach quickly snatch it up and shoot it backhand to the shooting tarp. With each pass move farther away from the rebounder and attempt to get faster each time. Repeat this workout up until you deplete your puck pile.

Passing And Shooting Drill

Make a backhand pass to the rebounder and let the puck bounce back to you. As rapidly as you get the puck, make the shot in front of you. With this one, don’t hesitate between moves, just quickly pass, let it come back, then slap the puck into the goal. Repeat until you are out of pucks.

It is extremely important to practice on a consistent basis. The more you train your muscles and sharpen your skills, the better you become at your game.
